Can’t spell Africa without A.I.

While African governments continue to unsuccessfully ebb the flow of its healthcare professionals migrating to western countries, developers have taken great strides in creating an autonomous program which can diagnose patients in these poorly-serviced nations. CareAi is a software that anonymises its data, analyses the patient’s test results, and finally draws diagnostic conclusions, although it does generate a confidence rating for its verdict.

This invention can lessen the workload of the already undersized group of physicians in the continent, hence allowing them to focus their efforts on patients in the most dire and complex situations. African policy-makers will need to construct guidelines to protect the rights of citizens as the project moves forward.
